Glare is undesirable light, which has been reflected from horizontal surfaces such as water, sand, snow or road surfaces. Only polarized sunglass lenses selectively eliminate glare.
Sunglass polarizers have an advanced multi-layer construction. The middle layer consists of a polarizer that is unsurpassed in polarizing efficiency. Then dyes are added to other layers for lower transmission and color. Outer layers contain abrasion resistant coatings. Sunglass polarizers provide enhanced eye protection as well as a fashionable appearance.

GENERAL PURPOSE and ENHANCED PERFORMANCE tints are unsurpassed in polarizing efficiency (over 99.9%) throughout the visible spectrum. SPECIAL PURPOSE tints provide polarization in selected portions of the visible spectrum. All lenses absorb more than 99.8% of the UVB (280 to 315 nm) and 99% of the UVA (315 to 380 nm)
- Lenses can be easily fabricated from this sunglass polarizer material by cutting the material to the desired shape and thermoforming it to the desired curvature. The material is inherently capable of passing the impact test required by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States Government.
- The most popular form for the sunglass polarizer material is reels that are 400 feet long. Standard widths are 52mm, 60mm, and 71mm. Panels are also available. The standard size is 17 inches wide by 1 meter (39.4 inches) Other sizes of reels and panels are available by special order.
- Both outer surfaces have a hard cross-linked coating to protect from scratching.
